Holsteiner horses were successful this week in Paris and Samorin - but the first international eventings of 2023 were also held.
In the five-star Grand Prix of Paris (FRA) it was once again Monaco by Cassini II-Contender (Ralf Lütje, Haseldorf), mare line 429, who did excellent advertising for the Holsteiner horse. The bay horse and Harrie Smolders (NED) took an excellent second place in the 1.60 meter show jumping test, which is worth EUR 400,000 – and took home EUR 80,000 in prize money.
With Uricas v/d Kattevennen by Uriko-Cassini I (Otto-Boje Schoof, Hedwigenkoog), mare family 1916, Harrie Smolders has another promising Holsteiner in the stable who, at eleven years old, has already proven himself many times on the international stage. In Paris, the couple took third place in the 1.50 meter course.
In Samorin (SVK) Quidams Star Melloni by Quidam de Revel-Chello I (Josef Fischer, Bad Grießbach), mare family 2554, and Sabrina Berger (GER) came on the silver position in the 1.45 meter Grand Prix.
Eventing
With the beginning of the warmer days, the first international eventings have also taken place: in the USA, more precisely in Raeford, a four-star event was held last weekend. With Chin Tonic HS by Chin Champ-Quinar (Inken Gräfin von Platen-Hallermund, Wangels), mare line 474A, won this a Holsteiner who attracted attention last year with a few victories in the bush. William Coleman from the USA sat in the saddle of the dark bay.
In Kronenberg (NED) Clever Man by Clarimo-Centender (Friedrich Lütkemeier), mare line 1333, and Julien Despontin (BEL) placed fourth in the CCI3*.
