Friday 28 August is the big day. ‘Tomorrow’s Champions by Holsteiner’, another special foal auction organised by the Holsteiner Verband, is due to take place: For the third time, the Warendorf venue is opening its doors for the event, which is taking place as part of the Al Shira’aa Bundeschampionat at the Warendorf Riding Club (Gröblingen 47, 48231 Warendorf).
A total of 33 top-class foals await an international audience from the worlds of breeding and sport. The collection brings together proven top sires with the offspring of up-and-coming stallions. Alongside prominent sires such as Aganix du Seigneur Z, Carthago and his son Mylord Carthago, Emerald, Uriko and United Touch, right through to Ermitage Kalone and United Way, the foals impress above all with their close family ties to internationally successful sport horses. The lot thus impressively demonstrates what ‘Tomorrow’s Champions by Holsteiner’ stands for: performance genetics, strong dam lines and the prospect of a successful future in sport.
This is what Holstein stands for: the very best dam lines
. A real rarity is catalogue number 10, Carpe Diem FZ by Carthago-Untouchable, line 6897. The legendary breeding and sport stallion Carthago, who enjoyed international success under Jos Lansink (BEL), is paired with the 1.60-metre mare Calleryama by Casall, who was successful under Gilles Thomas (BEL). This brings together the very finest performance genetics – a combination that is particularly interesting both in sport and in breeding. Catalogue number 17, Uriah by Uriko-Quibery, line 318D2,
also comes from an exceptional family. Her sire, Uriko, is regarded as one of the leading producers of sport horses of his generation. It is also fascinating to look at the fourth dam, Caletta VIII by Lord. She represents a highly successful family that has produced, amongst others, H&M Chilli Willi under Nicola Philippaerts (BEL), the Olympic horse Camiro under Toni Andre Hansen (NOR) and Cinderella. The latter once caused a sensation as the top lot at the Holstein Elite Auction and enjoyed success in international show jumping under Toni Hassmann (GER).
Finally, catalogue number 24, Creator VA by Cumano-Coriano, line 390, brings yet another exceptional sporting family to the auction. His sire, Cumano, made history in 2006 under Jos Lansink (BEL) and became World Champion in show jumping. On the dam’s side is Larissa X, a competition mare who enjoyed international success under Steve Guerdat (SUI). Creator VA thus combines top-class competition genetics on both sides of his pedigree and already carries the potential for a promising sporting future deep within his lineage. Catalogue number 32, United Quidditch by United Way-Quebec, also hails from the same dam line. The first two dams of this stallion were both successful in top-level competition themselves.
Presentation on Thursday
On the day before the auction (27 August), visitors will have the opportunity to experience the collection in a special atmosphere. From around 6 pm, the promising young horses will be presented to the public. Afterwards, the Holsteiner Verband invites guests to a get-together – the perfect opportunity for personal conversations and a chance to take a look at the foals together before auction day.
On Friday, 28 August, things get serious: the auction begins at around 8 pm. Once the final bids have been made and the new owners have been confirmed, the evening is far from over. At the after-auction party that follows, everyone can celebrate the successful auction evening together and toast the formation of one or two new partnerships.
Shuttle service to the presentation and auction
A shuttle service will be provided between the Bundeschampionat venue and the Warendorf Riding Club. This will enable interested parties to travel comfortably to the presentation and the subsequent auction of the ‘Tomorrow’s Champions by Holsteiner’ collection.
