Nohoval embodies a bunch of good qualities: big frame, very good top-line, excellent withers, as well as three basic gaits characterized by energy, rhythm, and carrying power. Just backed, his rideability has already become obvious. Nohoval’s most distinctive quality is his jumping. Always forward, with a powerful take-off and always displaying very good technique.
His sire Nixon van’t Meulenhof counts among the most frequently used young stallions in Belgium. His performances with Harrie Smolders attracted a lot of attention, with his way of jumping considered particularly thrilling. This is not by coincidence, as his half-brother Emerald as well as his offspring also stand out for their exceptional jumping.
Other than the stallions Nixon and Emerald, their dam Carthina Z by Carthago has produced two more 1.60m level show jumping offspring.
Nohoval’s dam used to be a sport horse herself and won 1.30m classes already at six years of age. She is by Erco van’t Roosakker, a stallion successful at 1.60m level.
The third dam, Teekitiezzie de Muze by For Pleasure, has produced the three 1.60m show jumpers Go Easy de Muze, Hocus Pocus de Muze, and Iceman de Muze.
The third dam, Narcotique de Muze II by Darco, used to be highly successful to 1.60m level with Eric Lamaze, and her offspring includes alone five show jumping sons and daughters at 1.60m level. The fifth dam, Qerly Chin by Chin Chin is considered the foundation mare of Joris de Brabander’s successful breeding programme in Belgium. The entire pedigree of Nohoval shows special linebreeding to Furioso II, Jalisco, Chin Chin, and Darco as well as Cor de la Bryère and Ramzes.
At his stallion performance test in Verden in April, Nohoval scored particularly well in jumping (8.8) and with his willingness to perform (8.5) and was rated 8.20 overall.
