The young stallion licensing is one of the highlights of the breeding year! On 10 and 11 December 2026, the finest young stallions will gather for the Holsteiner Young Stallion Licensing, held in conjunction with the Elite Riding Horse Auction in Elmshorn.
 
However, the journey towards achieving the approval status begins even earlier: the pre-selection for the young stallion approval is scheduled to take place from 27 to 30 October 2026 at the Elmshorn Association’s facilities.

Important: Due to animal welfare regulations, young stallions born after 10 June 2024 (updated date!) are not eligible to take part in the pre-selection.
