The collection of the Holsteiner foal auction sale held on the occasion of the German jumping and dressage Derby in Hamburg Klein Flottbek held eight brilliant young prospects and the expectations have been full and truly confirmed. Lot no 2, Cool Million by Cornet Obolensky-Plot Blue became the highest-priced lot, realizing 48,000 euros, a new record for this auction now held for the seventh time in Hamburg and for the first time under the guidance of Felix Flinzer.
At the magnificent jumping ground where the hardest show jumping competition in the world – the German jumping Derby – is to be decided on Sunday, auctioneer Hendrik Schulze-Rückamp had all hands full, with the average foal price at around 21,000 euros and the auction team around executive director Felix Flinzer and the exhibitors rejoicing about the sale of all foals on offer. “Holsteiner horses have a great standing all over the world, as has been demonstrated once again by the international demand and the gratifying average along with this exceptional top price”, Flinzer was satisfied to recap. The Cornet Obolensky son Cool Million is going to be based in the United Arab Emirates. The second-most expensive foal, lot no 7, was Champagner by Casall-Crunch, realizing 26,000 euros. He will stay in Germany and be produced for competition. Million’s Raya (lot no 3) by Million Dollar-Livello was worth 21,000 euros to her new owners, whereas Extraklasse (lot no 11) by Emerald van het Ruytershof-Calido I received 20,000 euros.
