Premiere after the reform: Results of the HLP tournament tests (HLP-Wertungsprüfungen)...

For the first time ever, the newly created HLP tournament tests (HLP-Wertungsprüfungen) were held in Elmshorn as part of the Holsteiner Horse Days. At the end of last year, the German Equestrian Federation (FN) announced a reform of the previous system.

This means that the stallion performance test will be subject to a points system from 2025 and the sport tests for four and five-year-old stallions will be abolished. They will be replaced by so-called stallion tournament tests (HLP-Wertungsprüfungen), which will take place as part of selected state and association championships according to the motto ‘we breed for sport, therefore we test in sport’, as published by the FN.

Now the time had come for the first time in Elmshorn and stallion tournament tests for four to six-year-old dressage and show jumping stallions were on the agenda. The best result of the four-year-old dressage stallions was achieved by the Floriscount son F-Dur. The stallion is owned by the Lower Saxony State Stud Celle and was presented by Catja Thomsen and ridden to an overall score of 8.40 after two tests. With a score of 8.23, another Celle state stud stallion finished top of his class among the five-year-olds: Rocky Mountain by Revolution achieved this result under the saddle of Saskia Sophie Kunz. El Dorado Gold by Escamillo belongs to Hans-Peter Mohr and scored 8.18 in the six-year-old class with Sophie Ludewig.

Jumping stallions: United Pleasure, Union City and Chavaros II in front
With an overall score of 8.90, the Holsteiner Verband stallion United Pleasure jumped to the best result of the four-year-old stallions on the course. Lucas Wenz skilfully staged the son of United Way. With an overall score of 8.70, Lucas Wenz - and thus the Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH - also presented the best five-year-old show jumping stallion: Another son of United Way, with whom Lucas Wenz shines on the international show circuit at 1.50 metre level. The former reserve winner of the Holsteiner licensing and last year's winner of the State Championships, the now six-year-old Charleston son Chavaros II, achieved the highest score in his age group with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson. The grey stallion, who is owned by the Maas J. Hell stallion station, scored 8.65.
