"Remember the name Zuccero" is the headline of the Swedish Equestrian Federation Svenska Ridsport Förbundet after this tournament weekend in Gothenburg. Only in the past week had the mold v. Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, and Rolf-Göran Bengtsson won the Grand Prix in Neumünster. Now the couple celebrated their next success in Sweden with third place in the prestigious Gothenburg Trophy over 1.55 meters.
"He's at least as good as the really good horses I've had," said Bengtsson afterwards. “He is athletic, careful, courageous and easy to ride. He jumps so nicely, we're on the right track. If we make a good plan, we'll go step by step and see where it ends up, explained the rider when asked about the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The Swedish audience celebrated the combination at all of their performances this weekend – the two had already cleared the run and jump-off in the 1.50 meter warm-up test and finished fourth.
"The great thing is that he also jumps very well in large courses," Bengtsson is confident about the green season. "He proved that impressively last year in Spruce Meadows."
