After the World Championships comes the National Championships: from 25 to 30 August, Warendorf will once again be all about young horse sport. At the Al Shira’aa National Championships, the best young horses and ponies bred in Germany come together to compete in various age groups and disciplines to determine their national champions. This long-established event has been held since 1994 on the grounds of the German Olympic Equestrian Committee (DOKR) in Warendorf and is regarded as a key showcase for German horse breeding. Every year, around 1,000 horses and ponies, as well as more than 500 participants, come together.
The Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH is once again represented this year with young stallions. In the five-year-old class, Arne van Heel will be presenting Kantato by Keaton I-Casall (Manfred Birchler, SUI-Bilten), line 104A. And Lucas Wenz is presenting United Pleasure by United Way-For Pleasure (Rita Siebke-Baasch, Sarzbüttel), line 2067, in this age group.
Lucas Wenz also has the six-year-old Union City by United Way-Connor (Als Bartholomäus, Klein Offenseth), line 18A2, and, for the Grand Tour for eight-year-olds and older horses, Charaktervoll HV by Comme il faut–Contendro I (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), line 474A, to Warendorf.

team As well as the sporting events, there will also be an opportunity in Warendorf to speak personally with the Holsteiner Verband’s management. On Friday 28 August at 5.00 pm, Managing Directors Felix Flinzer and Arne van Heel will be available for questions and a personal discussion during a round-table session centred on Keaton.
