At the joint mare inspection meeting of the breeding districts Nordfriesland and Schleswig-Flensburg in Behrendorf, a number of high-quality mares were recommended for the Verband mare show in Elmshorn:
Nordfriesland
Seven three- and four-year-olds made it into the final ring of the breeding district Nordfriesland. A daughter of Diaron-Chello I (Hans Karsten Ingwersen, Haselund), line 5175, was crowned champion mare. An Uriko-Cassini I daughter (line 1298) bred by Harald Andresen returned to her home not far away with the reserve victory.
Two more mares were recommended for the Verband mare show in Elmshorn on 15 June: One by For Romance-Krack C (Gerd Ohlsen, Föhr), line 104A, and one by Conthargos-Barcley (Heiko Clausen, Föhr), line 3389.

Schleswig-Flensburg
Three mares in the final ring, three qualifiers for Elmshorn - that was the final result for the breeding district Schleswig-Flensburg. The winner here was a daughter of Conthargos-Casall (North-Trade GmbH & Co. KG, Selk), line 1939, while Dirk Thomsen from Hörup produced the reserve winner: a three-year-old by Zuccero-Clarcon from line 5329. A daughter of Morricone I out of a Cascadello I dam (Max-Herrmann Johannsen, Hörup), line 4510, also got the ticket for Elmshorn.

Generous vouchers for the breeding heroines of tomorrow
Holsteiner mares are the basis of success - and to reward outstanding performers and their breeders, two stallion stations have generously sponsored mare registrations this year: Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH is awarding a free jumper of a three to five-year-old Verband stallion for the champion mare and reserve champion mare of each basket district. In addition, Hengststation Maas J. Hell will be awarding a stud fee voucher to each additional mare that makes it to the final ring in her basket district.

The four central inspection centres in Schleswig-Holstein
Mare inspection:
At the mare inspection, the mares are presented in hand and in free running and receive marks for type, topline, front foot, hind foot, walk, trot and canter. The mares can receive a special award (premium) based on the scoring and certain pedigree requirements. From 2025, mare inspections in Schleswig-Holstein will be carried out at four central locations and no longer individually in the breeding districts.
