This up-and-coming Holsteiner sire displays quintessential Holsteiner type and size and carries current performance genes. His sire Zuccero has arrived at the highest level in competition, his dam Graziana I used to be very successful in young horse classes and the second dam has made a name for herself through several successful sport horse offspring. Zuccarello’s jumping is characterized by his sire’s qualities: He is very careful by nature, with a powerful take-off and particularly impressive hind leg mobility. Under the saddle still cautious, but well developed. Anticipation is running high for his first offspring, as this young sire holds great promise with his tremendous natural ability.

Sire
Zuccero is highly successfully shown at international level by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson. For generations, Zuccero’s damline has been producing successful international sport horses. His half-sister Gareza is a successful international show jumper to 1.50m level. His second dam’s produce includes Scuderia 1918 Princy, successful up to 1.60m level. His third dam, Varese, is also dam to the stallion Lordano – third in the German Jumping Derby with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson in 2003. His fourth dam, Larese, is Chin Chin’s dam.

Damline
His dam Graziana was shown in competition only for a short time, but with great success, winning young horse jumping classes at A and L level. His second dam, Shamrock, is also dam to Crunch, an influential sport and breeding stallion. Shamrock’s show jumping offspring also includes Dito by Diarado, with results to 1.60m under Denis Lynch. His third dam, Herzdame, also produced a show jumper with results to 1.60m, Lake Tahoe. His fourth dam, Verina by Caletto II, won the two-year-old class of the Holsteiner Verband elite mare show at Elmshorn in 1985. Bred by the Gempf family in Stelle-Wittenwurth, she was purchased by the Roskothen family of Satrup and became the foundation mare of this successful branch of mare family 776 now bred and maintained by daughter Miriam Kühl in Broderstorf (Mecklenburg- West Pomerania). The maternal line traces back to Paul Bahlmann’s successful stud in Moorhufen.

Own performance
Zuccarello received the final jumping weighted mark 7.98 upon passing short ability assessment in Warendorf in May 2022. He was given 8.7 on rideability, 8.1 on canter, and 8.0 on willingness to perform.

Considerations for breeding by Sebastian Rohde
A stallion displaying the typical Holsteiner charm. His pedigree represents the modern Holsteiner sport horse with its current performance sires. As to be expected in view of his genetics he boasts boundless potential. His impressive hind leg technique deserves special mention as it is demonstrated by his sire in the same way and has seemingly been passed on. He should be bred to mares showing good basic gaits.
