Vigado by Vigo d’Arsouilles-Quo Vados I
HOL | *2018 | 171 cm | Chestnut | UELN: DE421000167818 | Mare family 776
The champion of the 2020 stallion grading boasts excellent sport horse qualities. Now five-year-old, his willingness to perform, cleverness and ridability are particular impressive. He is still undergoing physical development, and his balance is steadily improving as he performs with unrivalled confidence.
Sire
The pedigree of Vigo d’Arsouilles is stamped by the exceptional sires Nabab de Reve, Quidam de Revel and Jalisco B. The big-framed chestnut won the 2010 world jumping championship in Lexington (USA) with Philippe Lejeune. Other top international show jumping offspring by Vigo d’Arsouilles, who died at 21, include Fair Light van’t Heike (Alberto Zorzi), Vagabond de la Pomme (Pénèlope Leprevost), Irenice Horta (Cian O’Connor) and Ego van Orti (Edwina Tops-Alexander).
Damline
The very first foal out of Quo Vados daughter Goya has been crowned champion stallion of 2020 - Vigado. The second dam, Tora II by Cash and Carry, has also produced two successful sport horses by Quo Vados, Querry and Quno, with results up to 1.45m and 1.50m, respectively. The third dam, Nancy (by Concerto II), has produced two 1.60m jumpers, Cash and Go and Cash up, as well as Vigado’s second dam, Tora II, all by Cash and Carry. The produce of the fourth dam, Fanny by Capitol I, includes a 1.60m jumper, Cardea 2 by Caretino, as well.
Own performance
Vigado received the final jumping weighted mark 8.66 upon passing short ability assessment in Verden. He was given 9.3 on willingness to perform and 9.2 on jumping. Vigado completed sport testing, also in Verden, in March 2022: 9.0 on ability and overall impression, 8.8 on technique and rideability and 8.5 on canter resulted in a total jumping weighted mark of 8.81. A four-year-old, Vigado already placed in young horse jumping classes at A**level.
Offspring
His first crop proved convincing with foals of athletic make and shape which doubtless suggest a future use and suitability as a sport horse. He had as much as three foals from his first crop at the Holsteiner foal auctions. A very typey Vigado-Diarado colt (ZG Meyn-Winder, Bimöhlen) was knocked down at 12,000 euros at the elite foal auction.
Considerations for Breeding by Sebastian Rohde
Vigado’s first crop attracted a lot of attention. Obviously the stallion produces the most interesting offspring with very typey and leggy mares with correct conformation. His own jumping ability same as his potential to pass on this quality are beyond question. In his day-today willingness to perform and learn, he displays sport horse qualities of the highest order.
Head Rider Jens Klöppel about Vigado
Vigado is an intelligent stallion with an excellent canter and very willing to perform. He is a very light-footed and talented sport horse with awesome jumping technique.
