For the third time, the Holsteiner Verband marketing and auction GmbH had put together a collection of mostly young prospects for the Winter-Chance, some of them not yet started under saddle. Realizing 105,000 euros, hip no 21, Unglaubliche by Unlimited-Concerto II was the most expensive lot.
“Once again it has turned out, that horses out of proven sport mares are well paid“, executive director and auction manager Roland Metz rejoiced. The dam of this bay mare is no other than the 2009 winner of the German Jumping Derby in Hamburg with Thomas Kleis, Carassina (breed name Marassina). Moreover, Unglaubliche, born in 2019, is a half-sister to licensed stallion United Way by Uriko. Their dam, Carassina, is out of legendary Wodka II by Lord-Ramiro (Otto-Boje Schoof, Hedwigenkoog), whose produce also includes Chika’s Way by Caretino same as the licensed 1.60m jumper Clearway by Capitol I. Unglaubliche is going to be based in Hungary. The Vigo d’Arsouilles-Cassini II son Vampire (hip no 100) was worth 48,750 euros to his new owners from Switzerland. After having been stallion graded at the same weekend at the licensing for colts born late in the year, he changed hands through the Winter-Chance afterwards. This Belgium-born black stallion comes from a Holsteiner mare family which has been making a name for itself for decades thanks to sport and breed achievements, like for example the licensed stallions Casanova by Cadillac or Ligorett by Lord. The virtual hammer for La Dollar by Million Dollar-Carthago (hip no 15) fell at 30,250 euros, she is going to move to Switzerland as well. This online auction’s average price was about 17,900 euros.
