Anticipation is building for “Tomorrow’s Champions by Holsteiner”: the catalogue for this year’s foal auction is now available online. For the third time, the Warendorf venue is opening its doors for the event, which will take place on 28 August as part of the Al Shira’aa Bundeschampionate at the Warendorf Riding Club’s grounds. A total of 34 top-class foals await an international audience from the worlds of breeding and sport.
The collection brings together proven top sires such as Carthago, Emerald van’t Ruytershof, Mylord Carthago and Casall with the offspring of up-and-coming stallions such as Kantato and Cognac. Alongside prominent sires, the close family ties to internationally successful sport horses are particularly impressive.
Three lots exemplify the exceptional quality and sporting potential of the collection: Catalogue number 4, Unique Kiss Way by United Touch S-Uriko, line 1916. Her dam is a full sister to the Olympic stallion Uricas v/d Kattevennen (Harrie Smolders/NED) and thus links a top-class sport family with the European Champion and Aachen winner United Touch S (Richard Vogel/GER). No less prominent is catalogue number 9, Casallia VA by Cornet Obolensky-Caretino, line 890.
The dam of this filly is a full sister to the ‘stallion of the century’ Casall. Catalogue number 28, Unique Diamillion by Diamant de Semilly out of Plot Blue, traces her dam’s line directly back to an outstanding sporting family: she is a full sister to Million Dollar.
Yet it is not just the prominent names that define the collection. It is the combination of proven genetics, close links to the sport and breeding foresight that sets ‘Tomorrow’s Champions by Holsteiner’ apart. The 34 foals represent numerous successful bloodlines in modern show jumping breeding and offer an exciting glimpse of tomorrow’s champions.
Warendorf provides the ideal setting for this. As a location steeped in German equestrian tradition, the town on the River Ems combines breeding, training and top-class sport like almost no other place. The successful collaboration between the Holsteiner Verband and the Warendorf Riding and Driving Club once again creates a stage on which the up-and-coming talents can present themselves to a knowledgeable international audience.
