At the turn of the year, breeding manager Stephan Haarhoff and his team report good news regarding the numbers of Holsteiner Verband: The Association has recorded an increase in members and more registered mares and foals.
At the end of 2021 there were still 4.803 members, at the turn of the year 2022/2023 4.995 people were registered as such. Last year there was also an increase in foal registrations of 5.8 percent compared to the previous year - namely from 2.740 (2021) to 2.899 (2022) registered foals. There was also an increase of 74.7 percent in the registration of older animals – from 285 (2021) to 498 (2022).
The trend in mare registrations has also developed slightly positively: in 2022, 258 three-year-old mares were registered, in 2021 there were still 249 - an increase of 3.6 percent in 2022. The number of registrations for four-year-old and older mares is also increasing: 2021 667 were entered, in 2022 there was an increase of 4.5 percent with 697 entries.
“It is now a matter of consolidating and expanding on this gratifying result,” emphasizes Stephan Haarhoff. "For example, in the field of mare registration in 2023, four-year-olds will also have the opportunity for the first time to qualify for the Verband mare show in Elmshorn."
