Last weekend, the Global Champions Tour stopped off against the unique backdrop of Schönbrunn Palace in Austria’s capital, Vienna. A number of horses from the land between the seas also took part and enjoyed success. Leading the way was Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), line 4539, who, together with Maximilian Weishaupt, completed two clear rounds in the 1.60-metre team competition, thereby securing second place for the Riesenbeck International team. Third place went to the Istanbul Warriors, whose line-up included Abdel Said (BEL) and Wathnan Calvaro by Cascadello I–Quidam de Revel (Reimer Detlef Hennings, Bendorf), line 7673. The pair also remained clear.
Meanwhile, a son of Zuccero HV shone in the two-star show: Zenzero (MV. Accord II), line 3615, and Brianne Beerbaum won the 1.40-metre class. Another victory (1.45 metres) for the Holstein camp was secured by Little Special in Red M by I’m Special de Muze-Calido I, bred by Franz-Gerhard Mühlenbeck, line 6928, and Ciaran Nallon (IRL) for the Beerbaum Stables.
A CCI4*-S event took place in Aiken (USA). Here, third, fourth and fifth places went to horses with Holsteiner pedigrees: Third place went to Corvett by Corrido-Clearway (Doris Schimmer, Weddingstedt), line 4025, ridden by Emily Hemael (USA), ahead of Dyri by Diarado-King Milford xx (Stephan Hein, Neuleben), line 749, and Lucienne Bellissimo (GBR), as well as Rockett by Rock Forever-Mighty Magic (Burkhard Schwarz, Nahe), line 2599, ridden by Alyssa Phillips (USA).
