All three medals in the five-year-old eventing horse class went to the Holsteiner Verband: gold for Chesalico, silver for Carbolin, and bronze for ChrisTonic.
Chesalico by Chezarro-Colman, bred by Anneliese Hamdorf, confidently claimed the title at the Al Shira’aa National Championships for five-year-old show jumpers. The gelding from line 242 impressed across all three disciplines, demonstrating his exceptional versatility. In the saddle was the young talent Malin Hansen-Hotopp, the newly crowned team world champion, who also received the Animal Welfare Award.
With a score of 8.5 in dressage, 8.0 in show jumping and an outstanding 9.0 in cross-country, Chesalico displayed a consistently high standard of performance. Judge Monika Schnepper had special words for the winner: “He is the epitome of an eventing horse. Always focused, with great awareness and dynamic stride.’
Chesalico comes from a dam line with a strong sporting pedigree. With Cuddle SH by Cascadello, who was successfully competed under Brianne Beerbaum, the winner has a half-brother with a successful sporting career.
Silver for Carbolin
The silver medal went to Carbolin by Clarimo-Quinar, bred by Klaus Thiedemann from line 2543. With 38.40 points, the five-year-old Holsteiner secured second place. Carbolin had caught Julia Krajewski’s eye early on. The Olympic champion discovered the young sport horse at a Holsteiner auction. The judges were also impressed by Carbolin and attested to his remarkable level of training and great prospects for the future: “Well advanced in his training, endowed with immense potential and good instincts for the sport.”

Bronze for ChrisTonic
Another former Holsteiner Auction horse was delighted to take the bronze medal: ChrisTonic by Crack-Dinken, also presented by Julia Krajewski. The grey was bred by Manfred Johannsen and comes from line 569.

This means that all three medals went to horses with interesting Holsteiner breeding and auction histories – a strong indication of the quality and potential of the young horses.
In addition, the following Holsteiners finished in the top 10 of the final:
· Cleo by Cascadello I-Ibisco xx (Kirsten Roll) and Paolo Mario De Simone in sixth place (34.70)
· Odette by Cardentos–Adagio de Talma (Hans Wilhelm Ohlandt) and Liv Elin Gunzenhäuser in tenth place (32.80)
Six-year-old eventing horses
Luci by Clarimo-Lord Z (Max-Johann Johannsen) secured another medal for Holstein. The six-year-old mare galloped to silver (8.1) on the Warendorf cross-country course with Carlota Jade Korang Seitz. “A horse that took to the task very well today and performed it brilliantly. A truly interesting horse – light-footed, consistent and energetic,” commented Thies Kaspareit. With a score of 8.5 for the show jumping, Luci was particularly impressive in the Holsteiner’s core discipline.
