The Holsteiner stallions have arrived at the Verband's facilities in Elmshorn and were able to familiarise themselves with the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle by hand today. Over the next few days, this will be the main arena where their future careers could be forged. Who will be awarded a positive licence? Who can call himself a premium or even champion stallion? And which stallions of the 2022 crop will arouse the greatest desire at the auction? Answers to these questions will be available in two days' time. Until then, fans and breeders of the Holsteiner horse can expect a highly interesting licensing programme.
The licensing will traditionally open with the inspection on solid ground - on Friday, 13 December, spectators will be able to get an initial overview of the stallion candidates from 9 am. At 11 a.m., the riding horses that will be auctioned as part of the Christmas Edition will be presented. The organisation of two free jumping sessions proved to be informative last year, so that free jumping will again take place on Friday (from 2 pm) and Saturday (from 8 am) in 2024. Following the second free jumping competition, things will get really exciting again on Saturday when the contenders present themselves in the walk rings at 3.00 pm for the licensing decision. The winning Holsteiner stallion will then be proclaimed and will be duly celebrated by the audience with his breeder in the Fritz-Thiedemann-Halle. Afterwards, the stallions for sale and the strictly selected lot of riding horses will be auctioned off - and there will be a party. Standing room tickets are still available at the box office for 15 Euro.
