Thoroughbred stallion Agamemdon is a new entrant who has already left a very good impression on the inspection committees of other German studbooks with his first crop last year. Agamemdon was discovered by Jörg Kurbel at Röttgen stud. Despite his medium frame, he is characterized by long lines. Already at first glance, the stallion is impressive for his type and a very good top-line. He displays three high quality basic gaits. The elastic walk and the up-hill jumped canter must be emphasized. The trot, highly recommendable for riding horse breeding with lots of knee action and an active hind leg, deserves special attention.
In terms of height, TB stallion Agamemdon’s first crop demonstrates his ability – despite his medium frame – to maintain and in some cases even increase height in relation to the mares he is bred to. All offspring show improvement as to impulsion and knee action. His offspring are very leggy with particularly typey and refined heads.

Sire
Lord of England was champion sire with his first crop in 2010. He is by outstanding champion sire, Dashing Blade. Many successful race horses carry Lord of England and he had also won a group 1 race over 2000 meters himself.
Damline
His dam, A ce soir, won five and placed 19 times and won 25,000 euros in prize money.
The maternal bloodline goes back to Laroche and on the dam’s side through Acatonia to Acatenango, definitely a household name. Acatenango was champion race horse and horse of the year in 1985, 1986, and 1987, as well as champion sire in 1993, 1995, 1997, 1999, and 2001.
Personal contribution of Agamemdon xx
Agamemdon was raced for the last time in October 2020, at five-year-old. After just a few days of adjusting to off-track riding, he started stretching forward and out over the top-line, feeling obviously comfortable under the saddle. Arrived at the Elmshorn stallion stable, Agamemdon demonstrated positive riding horse qualities, good movement and considerable jumping ability. First jumps under the rider show proper judgement and carefulness along with good reflexes and bascule.
Offspring of Agamemdon xx
Ten Agamemdon foals have been born across Germany in 2022. His offspring so far are very harmonious, with visible improvement as to proportion and lines. He has been able to sire elegant, modern foals also on mid-framed mares while preserving frame and size. He definitely seems to pass on his movement with knee action and thrust.
