VTV/R+V Holsteiner Foal Championship: Well-Established Tradition with New Ideas

The Holsteiner foal championship has built a long tradition over the years. At Bad Segeberg, against the background of the big state horse show of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, every year the best foals of the year compete against each other in a filly and a colt class. New in 2022: a separate ring for Holsteiner foals with dressage bloodlines. The date is also new, with the Bad Segeberg state horse show held as early as August this year, the foal championship takes place on Sunday, 14 August. And there has been another change: for many years, the breeders of the winning foals had been given a horse trailer by the R+V/VTV animal insurance company. This year, the winners will be awarded a check for 2,000 euros. The R+V/VTV insurance agency and the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH make this possible. Beside other valuable prizes, each participant will be given a 250 euro stallion fee voucher by the stallion keeping GmbH.

The foal inspection committee around breeding director Stephan Haarhoff is presently touring the breeding districts, nominating the best of the best of the 2022 crop for the traditional state foal championship. As soon as the qualifications have been completed, the entry list will be published on the Holsteiner Verband website.
