Verband stallions in portrait: Khatou-S

Despite standing 1.76cm tall, the big-framed stallion proves to be tremendously rideable. The canter is impressively ground-covering, elastic, and balanced. His jumping shows exceptional quality, carefulness, and technique. Especially noticeable, however, are his strength and scope, raising expectations to see Khatou-S perform at major venues, jumping particularly challenging courses in the future.

In November, Khatou convincingly completed 50-day testing at Neustadt/Dosse where he placed 2nd with a jumping weighted final mark of 9.18.
Khatou-S performed very successfully over the past showing season with Jesse Luther with the combination chalking up wins and placings in young horse jumping classes up to M level scoring as high as 8.6.

As Jesse Luther will continue to show the stallion owned by the Helasuo stallion stud in Finland in competition, his availability at stud will be restricted to the period from 15 April to 30 June 2022.

His sire Chaman is one of the best jumping stallions in the world – as documented by his impressive track record and a look at the top 10 of the 2014 FEI world ranking. With Ludger Beerbaum, he won the German Masters in Stuttgart, the grands prix of Lyon/FRA, Lausanne/SUI, Ebreichsdorf/AUT, and the Vienna Masters, the Wien/AUT leg of the Global Champions Tour. Moreover, notched up front finishes in Hamburg, Chantilly/FRA, Madrid/ESP, Bordeaux/FRA, Zurich/SUI and Hong Kong/HKG.

The damline of Khatou-S carries four stallions, Toulon by Heartbreaker, Silverstone by Champion de Lys, Cash by Cor de la Bryère and Nimmerdor by Farn, all of which have stood out as sport as well as breeding stallions. Another remarkable fact is that all mares in the tail female line down to the 5th dam have successfully undergone sport horse testing with his direct dam, Erachelle-S, successfully shown at 1.50m level.
