With in particular the canter and the jumping of exceptional quality, Daikon holds great promise as a jumping sire.
He excels with strength, pushing power, technique, carefulness, and the way he uses his hind legs when jumping. The dark bay has attractive markings and a very positive energy. A strong and compact top-line is characteristic for the four-year-old.
His sire Dominator Z is currently among the horses with the highest profile in international top level sport. At nine-year-old he already notched world cup top finishes under his rider Christian Ahlmann and is one of the favourites for a slot on the German team for the Tokyo Olympics.
The damline of Daikon traces back to stem 18A2 from Dithmarschen. Representatives of this highly important mare family include the Derby winner Calle Cool, the exceptional jumper Pikeur Dylon or Catwalk, with a current top position on the WBFSH ranking. The stallions on the dam’s side of Daikon’s pedigree, Cassini I, Landjunge, Ahorn, Caletto I, and Warnfried are all exceptional Holsteiner jumping sires and guarantors of quality produce of this branch off stem 18A2.
Daikon underwent 14-day-ability assessment at Neustadt upon Dosse in September 2021 with the final mark at 8.58 (jumping weighted). He received 9.0 on character, temperament, willingness to perform and jumping aptitude (free jumping).
In May, Daikon completed his first competitions under Massimo Bonomi. Last week, the pair emerged victorious in a young show jumper class up to 1.10m with a score of 8.3.
