Verband stallions in portrait: Crack

The reigning Bundeschampion of six-year-old show jumpers 2021 is a very special jewel of the Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH in Elmshorn!

The Cornet Obolensky son impressed with his outstanding sporting performances last season. Wins and top placings in jumping competitions up to 1.35m are on his record. Among them the victory at the Holstein State Championships in Elmshorn under Maximilian Gräfe as well as the impressive victory at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf under Richard Vogel. An extraordinary success that a Verband stallion had never achieved before.

The large-framed grey stallion Crack stands out for his type and appearance. He embodies modern Holsteiner breed type; his excellent topline, with a light and well-proportioned neck blending into an ideal shoulder, and perfectly conformed withers and back deserves special mention. Crack owes his elegant Arabian touch to Amurath, a stallion he carries several times through Cornet Obolensky, Capitol and Gotthard. Crack consistently demonstrated his jumping quality at the preselection and inspection sites – very scopey and with a very good bascule, he comes across as ambitious, with a can-do-attitude and a particularly striking hind leg technique.

Crack’s dam line has distinguished itself at international level in competition. His sister Corcega la Silla by Casall attracted a lot of attention in youngster classes at international horse shows under Rolf-Göran Bengtsson and is now very successfully shown at S level by Jose Antonio Chedraui, particularly in Mexico and North America. A brother to Crack, Inar C by Quidam de Revel, competed in jumping classes at international level to 1.50 m already at nine-yearold. His second dam Adele has also produced the successful sport and breeding stallion Ouinar by Quidam de Revel.

Crack's first offspring were very promising. Crack had as much as four offspring at the Holsteiner elite foal auction, with each of them realizing in excess of 10,000 euros. Constantin, a Crack-Contender colt, was knocked down at 17,500 euros by the auctioneer at Elmshorn. Another Crack foal, Charlott out of a Cassini II-Contender dam, also proved convincing all along and sold to France at 15,000 euros.

Crack is available to breeders via fresh semen until probably mid-June. Afterwards, he will return to Richard Vogel's stable to be carefully prepared for his future tasks.
