Verband stallions in portrait: Catch

This large-framed grey stallion convinces not only with his imposing appearance but especially with his excellent technique at the jump, his generous canter, his positive rideability and his character.

Under Rolf-Göran Bengtsson, Catch travels the international show grounds and enjoys a careful training. In the 2021 show season, Catch placed several times in international show jumping competitions up to 1.45 metres, such as in Mannheim (6th) or Herning (2nd) and also currently the pair is attracting attention with top rounds in Herning and Kronenberg.

Catch's sire Colman is one of the best sons of the exceptional sire and top show jumper Carthago - multiple Grand Prix winner under Jos Lansink and two-time Olympic participant. Colman himself is, among others, the sire of the highly successful Catwalk under Robert Whitaker and L.B. Convall, who was not only the most winning German show jumper in 2017 under Philipp Weishaupt, but also won the Grand Prix of Aachen and Calgary, among others.

The dam, Pia, was tested in show jumping before being used for breeding. Successes up to placings in advanced (S) level underline the sportiness and hereditary reliability of the dam line and underline the clear realisation of the importance of sporty own performances of the stallion dams.

Catch's first offspring are very promising. For the Holsteiner Foal Auctions he produced some highly interesting offspring, among them the top foal of the Foal Auction during the Holsteiner Horse Days. The typey Catch-Casall mare was auctioned for 20,000 Euros. At the Holsteiner Foal Auction during the Hamburg Derby, a Catch-Casall foal was also up for auction and was knocked down at 17,500 Euros. In 2020, his first son, Catchmo, was licensed in Holstein in Neumünster. He was purchased by one of the top European show jumping stables.
