New Stallions for the Hengsthaltungs GmbH: Bonduel

The 2025 breeding season is just around the corner and Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH would like to introduce you to this year's new additions. Bonduel was raised at the Verband's stallion farm. The now three-year-old dressage stallion was approved for breeding at the Holsteiner young stallion licensing in December 2024.

At the 2024 Holsteiner grading of the young stallions, Bonduel attracted attention not only for his three very good basic gaits, but also for his brilliant type. From now on, this dressage-bred stallion who already embodies clear stallion type, will be stood by the stallion keeping GmbH. “This stallion is a looker, with long legs and very cadenced movement“, breeding director Stephan Haarhoff said about Bonduel at the grading.

Sire
Now twelve-year-old Benicio son Bonds was the celebrated champion stallion of the 2015 Oldenburg grading, where the beautiful Sir Donnerhall grandson demonstrated exceptional movement whenever he performed. He won his sport test in 2017 (9.12) and 2018 (9.28), respectively, became a serial winner of dressage horse classes at A, L, and M level with Beatrice Buchwald, and went on to place in dressage at advanced level. Bonds stands for great rideability and exceptional movement, qualities he also passes on to his offspring, such as Boccaccio, who shone in the 2024 Warendorf National Championships as runner-up of the three-year-old riding horses under the saddle of Danica Duen. Previously, the gelding had also finished on second position in the Hanoverian State Championship.

Damline
Zack’s prowess and success as a sport and breeding stallion earned him global renown. At the 2022 World Championships he took gold with the team (Nanna Skodborg Merrald/DEN). At the Tokyo Olympics, he finished eleventh individually, as the best active stud in this ranking. Moreover, he claimed the title of Danish Champion multiple times and his son Sezuan - a three-time world champion and one of the most popular dressage sires in recent years – shines a bright light on the quality of his offspring.

Bonduel’s dam Copenhagen I is a Danish-bred Zack daughter. On the dam’s side, she goes back to Landgraf I grandson, Landtinus. The full brother to Copenhagen I, Blåhøj’s Zagato, is a licensed stallion in Denmark. The maternal family has sport horse produce in Denmark, Frydendal‘s Celina by Solos Landtinus is a representative with numerous results at junior championship level, including a second place finish at the Nordic Baltic Championships. Solos Liostro by Solos Landtinus (Sven Huber/AUT) is a show jumping representative of this dam line at 1.60m level.
