A new team member has joined the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH some days ago: For the time being, Massimo Bonomi has taken over the training of Keaton, Charaktervoll and Caracho.
Having spent the greatest part of his life in South Africa, the Italian citizen is an experienced jumping rider and can look back on impressive results, particularly as a young rider. His career highlights include competing in the young rider European championships and the invitation to a 5* superleague horse show. Massimo Bonomi has already been working at several European sport stables, including Sören von Rönne, Eichenhain stud and at Urs Fäh’s yard in Switzerland.
After this year’s state championship, Maximilian Gräfe is to discontinue riding the Verband stallions at his own request in order to complete his training to become an equine physical therapist. “In the future, my aim is to produce a handful of interesting horses for clients, providing a holistic approach involving training as well as physical therapy”, says Maximilian Gräfe, who has also been building up a career as a trainer, for example in Schleswig-Holstein and Finland. Over several years he had been successfully showing stallions like Catch, Crack, Uriko, Castle Creek or Del Arko in competition, sport tests and stallion presentations.
From now on Massimo Bonomi will produce and train the Holsteiner Verband stalllions, supported by fellow Italian Roberto Ieva, who has also been employed at Elmshorn for several weeks now.
