A long standing tradition is to be continued also in 2021: during the Holsteiner state championship, this year’s top foals will compete against each other on Sunday 19 September, from 11.00am.
Almost 40 young talents have recommended themselves for the state foal championship at the breeding districts’ foal inspection sites. “We are happy also this year’s foal crop has proved to be high quality”, says Nobert Boley, executive director of the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH and initiator of the annual foal championship.
Offspring by proven sires like for example Casall, Clarimo, Cascadello I, Chacfly PS, Dinken, Uriko and Vingino meet sons and daughters sired by young and promising stallions including the likes of Cahil, Central Park, Charaktervoll, Chezarro, Cieran, Dubliner and Urthago. The dressage-bred foals are by Franziskus, Zenon and Dream Boy. With Sunday afternoon all about the Holsteiner foals, they are first presented in the outdoor dressage arena, prior to the crème of the crop having their big day on the venerable main show ground. Rasmus Lüneburg (Hetlingen), Hartmut Kettelhodt (Kirchlinteln) and Oliver Ross (Thedinghausen) will assume judging duties this year. For all those unable to attend on site, the entire event is live streamed by ClipMyHorse.TV.
The VTV/R+V Holsteiner foal championship is an exceptional highlight on the calendar not only because it showcases the best Holsteiner foals of the year and because of the special atmosphere. First and foremost the high quality prizes make this event particularly attractive, as both the winning filly and the best colt will receive a Böckmann horse trailer, sponsored by the R+V/VTV insurance general agency Birte Stapelfeldt and Hauke Ahsbahs. The many other rewards and prizes also include attractive stud fee vouchers given out by the initiator of the championship, the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH.
