Ten high-quality auction foals from Holstein’s top mare families at the Derby ground – the Holsteiner foal auction sale collection in Hamburg–Klein Flottbek on 18 May 2023 offers exceptional sport horses to be and precious future breeding stock.
The performance record of the lots’ relatives reads like a collection of the best performers on the sporting scene of these past years, combining Derby winners and world champions, nations cup winners and international elite sport horses. Like for example lot no 1, Rocket Girl by Uriko-Zirocco Blue, from the direct dam line of Toni Haßmann’s (GER) Collin, who won the German jumping Derby three times in a row. Also very interesting is the pedigree of lot no 2, Cool Million by Cornet Obolensky-Plot Blue, a natural born sport horse, with this colt’s dam a full sister to Million Dollar, whose track record includes wins at nations cup level with Sophie Hinners (GER). Lot no 9, Clemens by Charaktervoll-Corrado I, carries world champion blood, as his second dam’s produce includes Caillan, who caused a splash at last year’s world championship of the young jumping horses with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson (SWE), as well as Pikeur Dylon, repeatedly ranked up to international 1.60m level under the saddle of Markus Brinkmann (GER). The Holsteiner auction foals are put to sale at a horse show which counts among those with the highest prestige and the longest tradition in the world: For the 92nd time the international jumping rider elite is headed to cope with the oldest and most difficult jumping course of all times, the German Jumping Derby. The legendary Derby is completed by an international tour at five-star level where the grand prix comes with one of the biggest purses.
The presentation of the ten foals on 18 May, the day of the auction, is expected to take place at about 12:45pm on the Derby ground, with the hybrid auction sale starting at 16:55pm.
