At the start of the breeding season, the Holsteiner Verband has something very special in store for its breeders and is offering a total of 17 precious straws with frozen semen from internationally sought-after sires at an online auction from 12 to 17 March.
Very little semen is still available from most of these stallions, all of whom are something of legends due to their sporting and breeding successes. Among them are Olympic participants or World Cup winners, championship heroes and show jumpers of international calibre: Baloubet du Rouet, Caletto I, Carthago, Cassini I, Limbus, Concerto II or Contender are some of the stallions whose genetics can now be secured. There are also two strains of the coveted Cor de la Bryère.
Bidding for the straws - most of which are approved for ICSI use - will begin on Wednesday, 12 March at 12:00 noon. The final bidding will begin on Monday 17 March at 6 pm. All straws can now be viewed online at www.holsteiner.auction. Auction manager Felix Flinzer will be happy to answer any questions by telephone on 0162-3493942.
