Talents Raring to Go: Holsteiner Spring Auction Sale on 19 March 2022

On 19 March 2022, the traditional Holsteiner Verband spring auction sale is held for the 36th time now. Round about 30 promising prospects have been hand-picked by executive director Roland Metz and his team and now the talented youngster are ready for online viewing on the auction portal holsteiner.auction

Over the past years, offering promising three-year-olds in the first auction sale of the year has become common practise. And so the Holsteiner auction year 2022 kicks off with ten horses presented free jumping. Among them offspring by great names like Casall, Diamant de Semilly or I’m Special de Muze, same as the progeny of younger stallions like for example United Way, Million Dollar or Manchester van’t Paradijs, from well-respected stud farms. The ridden horses between four and six years of age not only boast interesting relative performance, but some of them already have own results in competition, as well. Like for example lot no 2, Calitino by Calido I-Caretino from mare family 104 A. This four-year-old gelding’s dam is no other than BB Caretana: successfully shown up to 1.50m level by Niklaus Schurtenberger herself, her produce includes the licensed stallion Casello by Casalito. The pedigree of lot no 6, Californication VLN by Diamant de Semilly-Clearway, is also very interesting. This grey mare is not only precious for her recently dead sire, but her dam, Colina, used to be successfully shown at international 1.50m level by Natalia Czernik. Moreover, the auction lot showcases great genetic diversity. Internationally established sires like Diarado, Vagabond de la Pomme, Colman or Clearway are represented by offspring in the same way as up-and-coming younger stallions. “Again we have succeeded in putting together a very special, high-quality collection comprising three- to six-year-old Holsteiners with a perspective for show jumping and eventing”, Roland Metz points out.
