Holsteiner Winter-Chance: Auction and Christmas Mood

On 11 December, the fourth instalment of the Holsteiner Winter Chance is held in the Fitz-Thiedemann-indoor arena in a hybrid format. Auction manager Felix Flinzer and his team have put together a diverse mix of three- to seven-year-old riding horses as well as two- and three-year-old promising, yet unbacked youngsters for this collection.

The riding horses will move into their box stalls at the Elmshorn Verband facility on 5 December, with public training to start the next day until and including 10 December. During this period, the horses can be tried out under saddle, of course. The auction candidates cater to every need and taste. For example lot no 5, Claford by Clarimo-Contender from mare family 318D2. The four-year-old boasting modern make and shape moves with great lightness and comes from the direct dam line of Diarado. Also from a successful mare family known for proven sport horse produce is lot no 106, Clavigos by Clarimo-Vigo d’Arsouilles-Casall, with the third dam to this two-year-old gelding no other than a full sister to Simon Delestre’s (FRA) top jumper, Chesall Zimequest, who used to top the WBFSH jumping horse ranking. The same applies to lot no 110, Handerson by Halifax van het Kluizebos, as this three-year-old is out of the same dam as Clavigos.

On 11 December, all auction horses are presented in the Fritz-Thiedemann-indoor arena. The presentation starts with the free jumping of the yet unbacked horses at 9:30am, followed by the under-saddle presentation of the older horses. Afterwards, the horses may be tried out for the last time. Prior to auctioneer Hendrik Schulze Rückamp opening the auction at 3:30pm, another highlight is scheduled from 1:00pm, with an interesting and diverting presentation of chosen Holsteiner Verband stallions. The entire event will be steeped in a festive, pre-Christmas mood, with a merry-go-round, mulled wine, roasted almonds, Christmas tree sale and much more.

All information on the fourth Holsteiner Winter-Chance collection is now available for online viewing, even though some interesting two-year-old will be added to the collection this week, as the breeders and exhibitors of the colts not accepted at the pre-selection for the Holsteiner stallion grading last week had been given the opportunity to present these colts for the Winter Chance. For all questions on the auction as well as the horses on offer, do not hesitate to contact Felix Flinzer (+49 162 3493942, fflinzer@holsteiner-verband.de).
