Holsteiner Winter-Chance: Auction in a Festive Look

Have you already got all Christmas gifts? If you are still looking for some very special present for your loved ones or yourself, you should not miss out on the fourth Holsteiner Winter Chance, our hybrid auction sale on 11 December. Auction manager Felix Flinzer and his team have put together a diverse mix of three- to seven-year-old riding horses as well as two- and three-year-old promising, yet unbacked youngsters for this collection. A total of 35 young horses are waiting for new owners.

On 11 December, all auction horses are presented in the festively decorated Fritz-Thiedemann-indoor arena. The presentation starts with the free jumping of the yet unbacked horses at 9:30am, followed by the under-saddle presentation of the older horses. Afterwards, the horses may be tried out for the last time. Prior to auctioneer Hendrik Schulze Rückamp opening the auction at 3:30pm, another highlight is scheduled from 1:00pm, with an interesting and diverting presentation of chosen Holsteiner Verband stallions.

Social Programme for Families
The entire event will be steeped in a festive, pre-Christmas mood, with a merry-go-round, mulled wine, roasted almonds, Christmas tree sale, open day of the resident riding school for kids and much more. This year, the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping is again supporting the charity „Pferde für unsere Kinder" (horses for our kids) and has initiated a craft competition. Participants can win one of eleven wooden horses and educational boxes with horse-related content with the winners announced on 11 December at Elmshorn. All little artists’ works will be exhibited at Elmshorn and all children and families are very welcome to join the event. But also the visitors on site may do something good, as the Radio Hamburg charity “Hörer helfen Kindern” (listeners aid children) has provided the Holsteiner booth with donation boxes so you can donate any small sum in order to help many local children and their families.

Sport Partners with Top Genetics
The riding horses have moved into their box stalls at the Elmshorn Verband facility on 5 December, and public training continues until and including 10 December. During this period, the horses can be tried out under saddle, of course. The auction candidates cater to every need and taste. Like for example lot 124, Vincent by Van Gogh-Quiwi Dream from mare family 6691. Third dam to this two-year-old colt is the famous Calypso II daughter Zivia: One of the most successful Holsteiner broodmares ever, she has many 1.60m level jumpers including Cim Christo (Georgina Blomberg), Candyman Mobilcom (Toni Hassmann) or Quim (Janne-Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann) tracing back to her. Or else lot no. 113, Memory by Million Dollar-Larimar from mare family 275. The second dam to this scopey jumping two-year-old filly has also produced Zeremonie (Laura Kraut), team gold medallist at Tryon. Lot no 4 is perfectly suited to getting started right away in the 2023 showing season: the four-year-old mare Kavala b by Casall-Clarimo is ready to jump a course and in the starting blocks for her first outing. Vincent, Memory and Kavala b are just three examples from a wide variety.
