Top Genes in Grand Prix Atmosphere: Holsteiner Foal Auction at the Derby

With the Al Shira’aa German Jumping and Dressage Derby just around the corner, the twelve Holsteiner foals due to be auctioned in the order listed in the catalogue in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek on Thursday 14 May are ready to roll.

Their bloodlines leave absolutely nothing to be desired, as they are by international sires and impressive up-and-coming stallions and from damlines which have had or still have a lasting impact on the show jumping world. Of current interest is for example lot 1, United’s Best B by United Way-Clarimo, mare family 6768, as this colt’s dam is successfully shown up to 1.45m level, while her full sister, Goja I, jumped through 1.50m level with Richard Vogel and is in her turn dam to eight-year-old Bull Run’s Amen (ex. Mbapeé), who has already won up to 1.50m level under the saddle of Kristen Vanderveen (USA). Lot 11, Colle il Star TR by Comme il faut-Quick Star, goes back to legendary mare, Daytona de Muze. His bloodline carries 1.60m level jumpers like pearls on a string. The Holsteiner Verband stallion Million Dollar is another representative of this damline. Lot 8, Uppsala HS by Diarado-Contender, mare family 4303, boasts Olympic relatives, as her second dam’s produce includes Nickel by Numero Uno, Julia Karjewski’s current championship contender and Olympic horse. The filly is also considered a bright prospect for eventing.

The foals’ first public appearance is scheduled for Thursday 14 May at 12:25pm on the Derby show ground. The auction is held in the afternoon, after the Championship of Hamburg and expected to begin around 16:25.
