The countdown is on. The Springflut festival is held on 9 to 13 July. One of the highlights on the programme of the hip equestrian and family event is the Holsteiner Verband and Holsteiner Highlight Sale’s joint foal auction held in the evening on 12 July.
When the Johannsen family invites top riders from all over Germany to Hörup, they don’t need to ask twice. For the sixth time now, the family is organising a horse show offering top-class sport, classes for young riders and an exciting supporting programme - under the very best conditions. James Farm, the adjacent modern agricultural operation, offers home-grown, home-processed and refined produce. Guided tours and join-in activities for all ages are organized every day. For those unable to attend, the horse show and the auction are livestreamed via Clipmyhorse.tv., however, a trip to Hörup is definitely worthwhile.
14 Holsteiner foals are put to auction as part of this event, with many of them carrying famous names in their pedigrees, as their sires or damsires used to be successful at major show jumping venues or championships all across the world. Such as lot 9, Milwaukee TH by Mylord Carthago-I’m Special de Muze from Holsteiner mare family 5329. Or lot 4, Tiara Mia by Canturo-Casall; both her sire and damsire were among the world’s top jumping horses at their time. Lot 11 is as interesting: C’est Chic Hero P is by Otto Becker’s Olympic and Aachen winner, Cento by Capitol I. The filly’s dam is by Echo van’t Spieveld, an own son of Heartbreaker, and traces back to famous Usha van’t Roosakker. In addition, offspring by Cahil, Vatson Sitte, Clarimo, Million Dollar, United Way, Uriko, Pegase van’t Ruytershof, Cascolero and Keaton I provide for genetic variety.
"We are very happy about the long-standing cooperation with the Holsteiner Verband. This year, for the first time, the auction will take place in the cosy atmosphere of our market square, the heart of the Springflut Festival, which means visitors and customers are very close to the auction," says horse show manager and host, Stephan Johannsen.
The foals are presented in the show jumping arena on Saturday, 12 July at 2:30pm. The auction held on the market place begins at 8:00pm. All information, pedigrees and videos of the foals can be viewed online on www.holsteiner.auction. Do not hesitate to contact the Holsteiner Verband executive director and auction manager, Felix Flinzer (+49 162 3493942) for further information.
