These days, Holstein is to open its genetic treasury and bring out the family heirlooms from the land between the seas - or rather frozen semen from some of the most important stallions of all. The first Holsteiner frozen semen auction is held online from 29 May to 3 June 2024.
With 23 straws – nearly all of them with an ICSI permit – to come under the virtual hammer, a look at the stallions - Caretino, Carthago, Cassini I, Corrado I, Cor de la Bryère, Contender, Big Star, For Pleasure, Baloubet du Rouet, or Quidam de Revel, among others - will make many an expert heart skip a beat. The auction is a first-time event and offers frozen semen by elite sires, most of them boasting impressive own performance at that time, and whose offspring continue to command attention at international horse shows and stallion grading sites. The bidding for the online auction begins on Wednesday, 29 May 2024 at 12:00 noon, with the final bid-up scheduled to begin on Monday, 3 June 2024, at 6:00pm.
