The countdown has begun for the 37th Holsteiner spring auction sale: next Saturday, on 25 March 2023, the 33 strong collection of horses is going to be knocked down to new owners in the hybrid auction sale starting at 6:30pm.
For several weeks now the ridden auction candidates have been stabled and trained at the Elmshorn facility, where they are can be tried out by prospective buyers. Quite a few exceptional sport horse careers have started from here – Cassandra Orschel’s Derby winner Dacara E by Cancara or Casall daughter Callas, successful at world cup level with McLain Ward are among the horse which had once been marketed through the riding horse auction sale in early spring. Auction manager Felix Flinzer and his team have been preparing for next Saturday for months: “During the try-out weeks the selected horses have confirmed their quality so we can look forward to an interesting and divers auction lot”, he says. Today the unbacked horses (lots no.1-13) have moved into their box stalls as well and can be viewed upon previous arrangement.
Final Presentation at 11.30am
The day of the auction on 25 March 2023 starts at 11.30am with the final presentation of all auction horses. Afterwards prospective buyers may avail themselves of the last opportunity to get to know and try out their favourites under saddle. At 3:30pm, the society for the promotion of Holsteiner breeding and sport has prepared a talk on digital result information supported by Hippomundo and Rimondo. An entertaining show programme is scheduled in the Fritz-Thiedemann-indoor arena from 5.15pm, featuring a vaulting freestyle with brilliant acrobatics on horseback, fast-paced mounted games as well as an extraordinary musical highlight. The hybrid auction starts at 6.30pm. All those in attendance can round off the evening on 25 March at the after show party from 10.00pm – entry is free.

Important information! With a Hamburg-Othmarschen bridge scheduled for demolition this weekend, all lanes of the motorway A7 are going to be closed off between the exits Hamburg-Volkspark and Hamburg-Heimfeld from Friday, 24 March 2023, 7.00pm to Monday, 27 March 2023, 5.00am. The Elbtunnel is also affected by the closure.
