Next weekend is all about the Holsteiner foals born in 2025 in the Herbert-Blöcker-outdoor arena as the elite auction offers 59 promising young talents on 23 August.
The collection is as impressive for its genetic variety as for the excellent performance record of the lot’s relatives. Take for example lot 6, Taylor Swift by Casolo-Quinar. The filly’s second dam, Alexa by Casall, from successful mare family 2543, has already produced several FEI level jumpers, first and foremost the newly-crowned winner of the CSIO Dublin Nations Cup, Camilla van de Helle (Kevin Jochems/NED). This successful bloodline traces back to Lord daughter, Borana, a full sister to Achaz von Buchwaldt and Lars Nieberg‘s unforgotten Loreana.
Lot 7, Chalinor by Charaktervoll HV-Acolord carries very reliable genes, as well, as this stallion prospect comes from the famous Holsteiner mare family 104A and the direct dam line of World and European Champion, Corradina, who used to be one of the most successful horses of her time with Carsten-Otto Nagel. Chalinor‘s sire, eight-year-old Charaktervoll HV, recently won his first jumping classes at advanced level with Lucas Wenz. The Comme il faut son is very popular with the breeders and is represented by as much as nine offspring in the elite auction collection. Another frequent sire is Million Dollar, represented by five lots. Breeding Million Dollar on Casall mares is proving a true nick, as shown by lot 44, Millions Miracle, who is bred this way. But that’s not all, with his second dam none other than the famous Caletto II daughter, Wisma, dam to the Cassini brothers and to Clearway.
“I am very much looking forward to this event and hope that a lot of horse enthusiasts and buyers will come to Elmshorn. The whole thing is completed by having the R+V State Foal Championship and a varied supporting programme for families as well as the youth competition at the same weekend“, executive director Felix Flinzer sums up the upcoming weekend. The foals will be presented on Saturday, August 23, at 2:30 p.m., and the auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. Before the auction, attendees can also enjoy free beer.
