The fourth instalment of a Holsteiner hybrid foal auction sale during the Springflut Festival in Hörup on 13 July is almost ready to roll and promises loads of quality and top of the range bloodlines. Together with the initiators of the Holsteiner Highlight Sales, marketing mangager Felix Flinzer has succeeded in securing 17 lots for the highly promising collection.
Take for example lot 9, Sunflower by United Way-Casall from proven sport horse mare family 18A2. The direct damline has already produced several 1.60m level horses, including Kevin Staut’s (FRA) Chepetta by Chepetto or Cilantro by Cassini (Meagan Nusz/USA). Moreover, the filly’s dam is a full sister to the licensed 1.45m level stallion, Castle Creek (Thomas Brandt/GER). Lot 14 also boast relatives with international merits. In case of Smilla by Million Dollar-Livello, it is Laura Collett’s (GBR) Olympic and 5-star-level winner London 52 who stands out the most. The combination is among the hot favourites for a medal in the eventing category at the Paris Olympics. No less interesting: lot 13, Especial Kalone by Ermitage Kalone-Uriko. This Catoki grandson comes from the direct damline of horses such as Quick Nick by Quinar (Jonella Ligresti Bonomelli/ITA), Soccero by Singulord Joter, once brought into the sport by Janne-Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann and Davis by Diarado, who became runner-up in the state championship of the seven-year-old jumpers with Rolf-Göran Bengtsson in mid-June.
The collection assembles other top names, as well, such as Casall, Clarimo, Quick Star, Ermitage Kalone, Heartbreaker, or Quidam de Revel, known to cause a splash on the international show jumping scene. Besides this established sires also younger stallions such as Vigado, Keaton, and Charaktervoll, are represented by foals – up-and-coming stallions who just recently attracted attention with their excellent own performance and who are the Holsteiner breeder’s pride and joy, and rightly so.
The foal lot has been carefully selected by auction manager Felix Flinzer together with the initiators of the Holsteiner Highlight Sales.
