Third Hörup Holsteiner Highlights Sales: The Collection in Online

With the Johannsen family putting their heart and soul into organizing the Hörup Springflut (springtide) festival, it’s time to get ready for 8 July, when about 15 carefully selected foals and a talented riding horse are put to auction in the course of this event.

Embedded in a varied programme offering exciting sport up to S***, the Schleswig-Flensburg breeding district foal championship, lots of entertainment including live music, the neighbouring James Farm’s kids’ world and a job speed dating event provide a worthy setting for the third Holsteiner Highlight Sales. 15 foals and one riding horse have made it into the collection, with their pedigrees reading like the Who is Who on the show jumping scene. Several foals command particular attention, like for example lot 101, Rubin HaS. She is a full sister to Cool Million by Cornet Obolensky-Plot Blue, who realized the record price of 48,000 euros at the auction sale held during the Hamburg German Derby in mid-May. This filly is special as her dam is no other than a full sister to Holsteiner Verband stallion, Million Dollar. But also lot 103, Dicacara E by Dinken, out of a full sister to Dacara E (Cassandra Orschel/POL), is a special offer with regard to breeding and sport. Speaking of special: Just as interesting a recommendation is lot 106, Virginia by Vatson Sitte-Uriko-Lavall I from mare family 890. Naturally, for those big on Holsteiner jumping horse breeding, Lavall I and this mare family immediately bring to mind once-in-a-century stallion, Casall. And they are quite right when it comes to Virginia, as her second dam is no other than Kira, dam to Casall.

The foal lot has been hand-picked by auction manager Felix Flinzer together with the initiators of the Holsteiner Highlight Sales. In addition to those already mentioned, their sires are Crack, Diamant de Semilly, Carambole, Comme il faut, Chavaros II, Chezarro, Duplexx, Uriko, Million Dollar, Clarimo, Cahil and Vigado. And a riding horse has also found her way into the selection. The five-year-old Million Dollar-Claudio daughter is a fully trained and ready-to-compete show jumper. The collection is presented live to the Hörup visitors during the event. Those unable to attend may follow the broadcast on ClipMyHorse.TV. The riding horse can be tried out under saddle after the presentation and on Saturday. To do so, please contact Thieß Luther (+49 172 5402234) or Timm Peters (+49 172 4351781) to arrange your try-out session. All other information, pedigrees and videos are available for viewing on www.holsteiner.auction. Moreover, Felix Flinzer (+49 162 3493942), executive director and head of marketing, is happy to answer any questions.
