Germany’s most important young horse championships are held this week. When the National Championships begin in Warendorf on 2 September, the entire breed and equestrian scene will be looking towards the small town on the river Ems. For the second time now, the top Holsteiner Verband foal auction “Tomorrow’s Champions by Holsteiner” – powered by DERBY horse feed is going to be part of this major event.
27 jumping-bred foals with Holsteiner pedigree papers have made it into the collection which leaves absolutely nothing to be desired, with offspring by sires such as Casall, Emerald van het Ruytershof, United Way, Don't Touch Tiji Hero, Mylord Carthago, Untouchable, Clarimo, Chacco Blue, Ermitage Kalone and Conthargos put to auction on 5 September. But it would not be a Holsteiner Verband auction without younger sires sending offspring, as well, which means stallions such as Keaton I, Charaktervoll HV and Vigado, same as former Holsteiner champion stallion Esmeraldo are also represented.
International Bloodlines and Holsteiner Icons
And what else is typical of a Holsteiner Verband auction? Well, of course the mare families of the lots on offer. Such as lot 14, Troyalfina KNT by Mylord Carthago-Baloubet du Rouet, from mare family 318D2. Her second dam is a full sister to Corofino I and II and the family has produced countless international top horses as well as former Holsteiner champion stallion and top sire, Diarado. The dam line (stem 3389) of lot 17, Talia vom Borndeich by Casall-Crunch, is as famous, with her fourth dam none other than Wisma by Caletto II, dam to Cassini I, II, and Clarimo. Apropos Clarimo: a valuable straw of frozen Clarimo semen is also put to auction. Lot 24, Touch Down L by Don't Touch Tiji Hero- Balou du Rouet, mare family 1120, is interesting for breeding and sport in equal measure with her second dam a full sister to Chesall Zimequest by Casall (Simon Delestre), the Global Champions Tour winner who used to top the WBFSH ranking.

The foals’ first public presentation in the indoor arena of the Warendorf Riding Club (Gröblingen 47, 48231 Warendorf) is on 4 September at 6:30pm. Afterwards, the Holsteiner Verband and the breeding district Europe host a breeders’ evening with finger food and beverages, inviting you to chat and socialize. The auction starts on 5 September at 7:30pm. Of course it is live streamed on ClipMyHorse.TV for online bidders.
