The Holsteiner Verband’s foal auction, held as part of the Al Shira’aa German Show Jumping and Dressage Derby in Hamburg-Klein Flottbek, once again attracted considerable interest from breeders, riders and investors. At the historic derby venue, numerous highly promising young prospects changed hands.
The top two prices were achieved by Una Rosa by Zuccero-Emerald van het Ruytershof, bred by Hartwig Schoof (Hedwigenkoog), and Comme il Star TR by Comme il faut-Quick Star, bred by Tom Rose (Warburg), both of which were sold for a hammer price of 22,000 euros. Both young talents impress with their sporting pedigree. Whilst Una Rosa traces back to the famous Chin Chin daughter Usha van ’t Roosakker, it is Comme il Star TR’s fourth dam, Daytona de Muze by Cento, that is particularly noteworthy.
Mylord Walnut KNT by Mylord Carthago-Parfait van het Schaeck, bred by Wojciech Kasperski (POL-Nowy Tomyśl) – a scion of the famous Querly Chin dynasty – also attracted considerable interest. For €21,000, this prospective stallion was purchased by U.P. Sporthorses from Schleswig-Holstein, who had already secured the bid for Una Rosa.
The average price of the foals stands at around €14,700, with a sales rate of 92 per cent.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks to U.P. Sporthorses for the trust they have placed in us over the years. We wish them and all our other customers every success for the future with these top-class foals,” explains Felix Flinzer, Head of Marketing and Managing Director of Holsteiner Verband Hengsthaltungs GmbH.
“Today will remain a fond memory for the entire Holsteiner Verband team for a long time to come,” Flinzer continues. “Not only was the foal auction a real success, but from a sporting perspective too, things went exceptionally well today. Leading the way, of course, were our two Verband stallions Keaton HV and Charaktervoll HV, but the horses from the marketing stable also showed themselves at their very best. Our thanks go equally to all the riders, grooms and clients.”
