In just a few days, on Saturday 24 August, to be precise, the first of around 45 Holsteiner elite foals will enter the Herbert-Blöcker-outdoor arena at Elmhorn to lay the foundation of their future careers at 12 noon, when this year’s instalment of Auction ‘n Concert kicks off. This is where elite foal auction and live music come together – and you are cordially invited.
The Holsteiner foals boast exceptional bloodlines with relatives excelling at world championship and Olympic level. One of them is for example a close relative to Zeremonie by Cero I, who used to be the measure of all things as a jumper for years and became team world champion with Laura Kraut (USA): It is lot 32, Künstlerische Freiheit by Keaton-Million Dollar. Lot 9 shares the direct dam line with Chepetta by Cheppetto. The mare Chepetta is shown at the highest level by France’s Kevin Staut and has chalked up top results for example in Doha (QAT) or La Coruña (ESP). The colt foal called Cutest by Clarimo-Casall doesn’t fall short of her in terms of his athletic make and shape. It goes without saying that no elite auction would be complete without an offspring by Rolf-Göran Bengtsson’s Olympic horse, Verband stallion Zuccero HV by Zirocco Blue; lot 45, Zack Zack (damsire Million Dollar) is among the collection’s valuable assets. Ermitage Kalone (Gilles Thomas) and Quel Homme de Hus by Quidam de Revel (Jérôme Guéry) competed for Belgium at the recent Paris Olympics and they are also represented by several young offspring, lots 24 (Emil, damsire Casall), 36 (Quantico, damsire Colman), as well as 37 (Sanna, damsire Vagabond de la Pomme). The entire collection, including photos, videos, and relatives‘ performance records can be viewed on www.holsteiner.auction.
Bidding Duels from 4:00pm in the Hybrid Auction
The hybrid foal auction is held on Saturday 24 August 2024. The event kicks off at 12 noon with the presentation of elite foals followed by a performance of the Tonados, known as a first rate party band well beyond the borders of Schleswig-Holstein. The first part of the auction starts at 4:00pm, the second, after another musical interlude, at 6:45pm. A bouncy castle caters to the youngest visitors, whereas the rest can enjoy food and drinks during Auction ‘n Concert. The Elmshorn programme continues on Sunday, 25 August: Before the best Holsteiner foals of the year compete in the R+V state foal championship, competitions for children on horseback are scheduled. Visiting is definitely worthwile for the entire family and admission is free for the entire weekend. Marketing manager Felix Flinzer (+49 162-3493942) is happy to answer any questions you may have on the auction or the foals.
