The first reserve champion of the Holsteiner stallion grading held in February 2023 is an athlete in every respect. The direct family has already produced several international jumping horses successfully shown up to 1.60m level same as Holsteiner champion mares. In many ways, Union City is a very interesting stallion combining recent Holsteiner genes with one of the Holsteiner studbook's most successful performance damlines, mare family 18A2.
The charismatic United Way son impresses at first sight with his great movement and characteristic type. His careful and scopey jumping holds great promise for a future sport career. At the Lanaken world championships of the young jumping horses, Union City was among the most talked about stallions and confirmed his athletic value with clear rounds in the qualifiers and just one knock-down in the final. Also at the Warendorf Bundeschampionat his smooth rounds send him to the final where he finished tenth.
Under the saddle, Union City, first reserve champion stallion of the Holsteiner grading held in February 2023, demonstrates a big, powerful jump and thrilling rideability. He is expected to pass on these qualities. Embodying typical Holsteiner make and shape, he is also expected to pass on his big frame and long lines to his offspring.

Sire
United Way has been one of the most sought-after Holsteiner Verband studs for years now, with two very much in-demand sons, Union City and United Pleasure, stood by the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH. United Way himself jumped to remarkable results with Lucas Wenz over the past years. From first placings at S* level to results at S*** and a ninth place finish in the Riesenbeck grand prix, a Longines ranking class, they collected numerous highlights already in 2024. In 2025, the combination seamlessly continued their winning streak. Placings at Grand Prix and word ranking jumping classes up to 1.50m level were crowned by a fourth place finish in the Lanaken “Sires of the World” jumping class.
Over the past years, his sire Uriko has left a clear mark as a sire with successful international level offspring, such as Uniquo (Sheikh Khalifa al Thani/QAT), Uricas v/d Kattevennen (Harrie Smolders/NED), Untouched (Christian Hess) and Charisma HS (Sergio Alvarez Moye/ESP).
United Way’s dam, Carassina by Concerto II, won the German Jumping Derby in 2009 with Christian Kleis. Carassina’s dam again is Wodka by Lord, one of the world’s best mares in jumping horse breeding.
Damline
Union City is the first licensed son of Connor daughter Cathy. His second dam, Hotline II, has several show jumping offspring with results up to S level, including Discovery, successfully shown at 1.60m level by Dani G. Waldman (ISR). The direct damline has also produced highly successful international top-level sport horses like for example King Artus (Peter Thomsen), Cerruti van ter Hulst (Cian O‘Connor/IRL), or Carrado MVNZ (Brook Dobbin/AUS).
Own performance
Union City underwent short ability assessment in Münster-Handorf with a jumping weighted final mark of 8.11 in April 2023, most impressive for his rideabilty (8.5), willingness to perform (8.2) and canter (8.2). The Verden sport test particularly highlighted Union City’s ground-covering canter (8.2) and jumping ability (8.2). In early 2025, the stallion performed brilliantly in the Münster-Handorf sport test, resulting in a final score of 8.71 for Union City: He was given 9.0 by the judges as much as two times, on ability and on overall impression. Union City’s canter and rideability also proved impressive and he received 8.7, respectively, under the saddle of Lucas Wenz. “We were wowed by this stallion’s responses here“, the judges said. “And he excelled in particular with his generous and light-footed canter.”
Union City got everything right in his first showing season in 2025: with nearly every start resulting in a placing, the bay became not only the second most successful five-year-old Holsteiner all across Germany, but also earned himself the titles of Future Champion at the Hörup Springflut Festival and Reserve State Champion. Moreover, he made it to the final of the Bundeschampionat and the World Championship of the five-year-old jumping horses, respectively, with his trainer-rider Lucas Wenz.
