The Holsteiner stallion grading in the Neumünster Holstenhalls had been held in February for the first time this year. Following a thorough analysis of this first-time event also involving stallion owners and producers, the Holsteiner Verband board and the executive directors have decided to carry out the next mayor stallion grading in December 2023. The grading is held from 13 to 16 December 2023 at the Elmshorn Verband facility. 

The change of location, from Neumünster to Elmshorn, at the chosen time, is to be a pilot project which has been discussed and dealt with in various task forces. “Following the February grading we have been in numerous constructive talks and obtained opinions from those involved“, says chairman Ulrich Steuber. “These changes will not only make use of synergetic effects by organizing the event at the Verband facility, but also the period from preselection (30 October to 3 November) to actual grading is shortened in the horses’ best interest.” After the pilot event, the location of future stallion gradings will be jointly decided on.
