15 three- to six-year-old Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH stallions as well as eight foals were presented to interested breeders on 1 May in the Elmshorn Fritz-Thiedemann-hall.
“I was particularly pleased about the excellent presentation of the stallions which have not been on the breeders‘ radar as much yet “ Norbert Bolyey said after the successful presentation. This includes six-year-old Zuccero (cover) by Zirocco Blue-Caretino (bred by Hanno Köhncke, Badendorf), who jumped an excellent short course under Mascha Krause. But also four-year-old Castle Creek by Casall-Carthago (Silke Zuba, Wesselburen) left nothing to be desired under Christian Hess. Christian Hess was also in the saddle of Baloubet du Rouet-Clearway offspring Barcley (Isabel Jahr, Hodorf), a stallion emphatically demonstrating his international show jumping ambitions. Anticipation had been running high for the three-year-old stallions Crack by Cornet Obolensky-Candillo (Cria de Caballos, P-Pepino), Lewine by Livello-Corrado I (Johann Peter Lass, Leck) and United Way by Uriko-Concerto II (Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH), which had returned to Elmshorn from 14-day ability assessment with very good results. Jumping two obstacles each they demonstrated that the high expectations for them at the stallion grading are more than justified. Having had to wait a little longer with ability testing due to his late date of birth, the fourth three-year-old, Forino by For Pleasure-Caretino (Manfred von Allwörden, Grönwohld), has now moved into a box stall at the Neustadt/Dosse main and state stud for the next 14 days. Dressage horse breeding in the land between the seas was promoted by Kornelia Kindermann riding Clarksville by Cascadello I-Canto (Norbert Frings, Itzehoe) and Goldball by Goldberg-Sir Donnerhall (Dr. Alexandra Montkowski, Edewecht), a stallion licensed for breeding just recently at Elmshorn.
To round off these impressions for the breeders, eight foals by the stallions on parade were presented as well.
The afternoon offered loads of information for the breeders in the Fritz-Thiedemann-hall, with Dr. Günther Friemel providing pedigree analysis, Norbert Boley providing his view and impressions from the stallions’ day-to-day work and last but not least Casall rider Rolf-Göran Bengtsson evaluating the young stallions with regard to a future (international) sport horse career.
