The Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH starts into the 2020 breeding season with these first-season stallions:

From four colts owned or co-owned by the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH presented for stallion grading at Neumünster, two have been given the seal of approval:

Fidertanz-Silvano son Fidano (ZG Pflügler & Ahrens, Weddingstedt) attracted a lot of attention thanks to his attractive appearance and desired up-hill conformation and has been given the premium designation. According to breed director Dr. Nissen’s description the stallion “displayed natural dressage talent to a standard rarely ever seen before at Neumünster. The movement of this Fidertanz son definitely lives up to his bloodline.”

The second home-produced stallion is Dubliner by Dinken out of a Canturo-Cassini I dam (Philipp Freier, Landau). The two-year-old proved particularly convincing for his type and jumping ability. Dubliner continues the Holsteiner studbook’s D sire line. His second sire Diarado is earning more and more of a reputation for his offspring, already well established on the international sport scene. Diarado currently holds 20th position on the international WBFSH sire ranking, a clear indication of his ability to produce quality offspring.

Cahil to be stationed at Elmshorn

After a lot of guessing where the 2019 champion stallion would be put to stud, we are proud and grateful the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH has been given the opportunity to lease Cahil for the 2020 breeding season. His sire Cornet Obolensky is very much in demand as a sire all over the world and has made a name for himself through numerous highly successful offspring including for example Cornado I, Cornado NRW, Cornet d’Amour and Clooney, silver medallist at the Tryon WEG with Martin Fuchs. Cahil’s dam is Operette; this great performer’s produce includes the international championship contender, Vienna Olympic, as well as Wonka, who used to be successfully shown to international S level and has produced a licensed stallion, Forino.

With Cahil, an absolutely exceptional stallion is being made available to the breeders. Convincing grading committee and audience alike with every appearance, he was the celebrated champion stallion of 2019. His type, movement, and jumping hold great promise for a great future as a breeding and sport stallion.

The stallion keeping GmbH is also very happy in having succeeded in stationing the 1st reserve stallion of the 2019 grading for the upcoming breeding season. Chinchero by Chopin-Clarimo was purchased by the owner-partnership Meyer/Filtschen through the licensed stallions’ auction sale. Same as the champion stallion, he convinced with every appearance, and his free jumping performance was celebrated with applause. The stallion boasts tremendous athleticism, top quality as a jumper and loads of energy. We greatly appreciate the opportunity to make this top stallion available to our breeders.

Another premium stallion is going to feed his oats at Elmshorn: Somersby-Contender-Lord son Soleto, bred by Witt Pferdezucht GbR,Wellinghusen, is available to the breeders in the upcoming season at Elmshorn. The grey stallion was purchased by the stallion keeping GmbH and the Brazilian stud Haras Agromen at the Neumünster stallion auction. “He jumps with perfect carefulness and demonstrates the ability to be expected from his bloodline. His high sport value is emphasized and secured through his dam line, stem 741”, he is described by breed director Dr. Thomas Nissen.

The 2020 stallion selection also comprises the Comme il faut-Contendro I son Charaktervoll (Manfred von Allwörden, Gröhnwohld). Thanks to a very active hind leg and a strong back, the dark bay has a very powerful jump with energetic thrust. Dr. Thomas Nissen described the two-year-old as follows: “He combines all the good qualities of a jumper, the getting off the ground, the good bascule over the jump, the bending of the legs and loads of ability, once again proving the quality of the horses from stem 474A.” On the show jumping scene, his Vater Comme il faut is currently very much in the focus for his own sport performance as well as the quality of his offspring.
