Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH stallion Quibery outperformed no fewer than 94 competitors in yesterday’s second six-year-old jumper qualifier, thereby impressively demonstrating his ability to jump really fast as well as clear rounds.

His rider Bart van der Maat had previously agreed on this strategy with his boss and trainer, Rolf-Göran Bengtsson. "In order to reach the big final on Sunday, Bart needed to ride fast today, we had agreed on that beforehand. Well, I have to admit, I had not really meant it to be so fast", a pleased Bengtsson, coaching his two charges at Warendorf, smiled afterwards. The
Quintero son bred by Hobe Magens won by a margin of more than a second. Bart van der Maat took a modest approach: “The next two days I’m just going to ride Quibery as usual and take care that he is feeling well. And on Sunday we are going to see how it is going.”

But the one golden ribbon in this class was not enough for the Holsteiner horses, as also the second division was won by a horse from the land between the seas, De Lütte, a mare by Casall-Cassini (Matthias Meuser, Heist).
