Holsteiner Verband stallion Million Dollar by Plot Blue-Vigo d’Arsouilles-Cento (Perry de Winter, BEL-Haasdonk) has certainly been among the most talked about young stallions in Holstein these past three years.
His rider Ebba Johansson, a Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH employee, and the Plot Blue son have delivered numerous impressive courses, chalking up many wins and placings. The seven-year-old will now relocate to the yard of Jos Lansink.
At four year old, Million Dollar had moved into his box stall at the Elmshorn stallion stable. After Maximilian Gräfe had left the Verband, Ebba Johannson took over the ride of the Belgian stallion with the young Swede and the stallion with the conspicuous markings growing together very fast. After winning young horse jumping classes in a row, the combination has taken home first results at S level this year. “Ebba and her coach Lorenz Lassen did an excellent job producing the stallion over all these years and because of their carefulness Million Dollar has developed in a way definitely meeting our expectations“, Norbert Boley, executive director of the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH is full of praise for the rider-coach-team. As a result, the stallion had been very much in demand by the breeders, “moonlighting” as a sought-after breeding stallion and producing as much as two licensed stallions from his first crop. “Million Dollar was frequently bred these past years. After consultation with the stallion committee, we decided to give him a break from stud duties outside of Holstein”, Boley continues. “Ebba and Lorenz have laid the all-important foundation, now the time has come for Million Dollar to get ahead and increase his game“, says Norbert Boley. When looking for a rider to produce the stallion for greater tasks in sport, a policy successfully brought into effect with several other Verband stallions before, Norbert Boley succeeded in the Netherlands, to be exact, at the yard of Jos Lansink, where Frank Schuttert is to take over the ride. Schuttert already flew the Dutch colours at the Tryon WEG and the 2019 Rotterdam Europeans and is considered one of the most talented young riders in the country, winning the Maastricht grand prix as recently as last weekend. “Of course Million Dollar is still available to our breeders through frozen semen, even though his sport career has now been given top priority”, says Norbert Boley.
