Crunch is a very special breeding stallion at the stable of the Holsteiner Verband stallion keeping GmbH.

The Clarimo son had already been purchased as a foal by the Holsteiner Verband Elmshorn and already when being prepared for stallion grading it had become obvious that he was doing an exceptional jump. Already then his tremendous jumping ability and sheer strength proved convincing. This quality has always characterized his sport career and made him an interesting option for the breeders.

He started his jumping career with Thomas Konle and later Max Gräfe, winning many young horse jumping classes to M level as well as taking first placings in youngster classes at S level. Eight–year-old, Crunch changed rider and came to the yard of Rolf-Göran Bengtsson. He impressed the jumping experts by winning the Breitenburg grand prix at S*** level in 2017 and continued his career by placing at the international horse shows of Münster, Redefin, Hamburg, Berlin, Herning, Valkenswaard and Rome. Moreover, he won the Uggerhalne/DEN grand prix (1.60m), thus laying the foundation for a successful international career. Plans for a future championship horse were to be realized step by step. Despite several attempts for treatment, an injury to the pastern joint area of his right hind leg sustained at the stable aisle meant the tragic end of his promising international sport career.

Rolf: “Crunch convinced right from the start with his tremendous ability and assertiveness. In the beginning it took him some time to get used to taking orders from his rider but then he made you feel extremely secure riding him over a S level course. It is really absolutely unfortunate that he was forced to end his career when he was just beginning to be able to play to his strengths in real.”

Crunch has now moved into his stud box stall at Elmshorn next to his “old” stable mates Casall and Clarimo, attending to his career at stud. His first, now eight-year-old offspring are attracting more and more attention. Rasmus Lüneburg has two very interesting Crunch offspring at his stable, both with first jumping placings in international youngster classes to S** level – Chill ma and Crunchy. Other offspring are Chilli with Luca Maria Moneta (int/1.40m), Chrunchie with Luciana Roberta Gonzalez Guerra (int./1.35m), Charente CC with Sissela Smith (int./1.30m) or Galante with Kim Bril (int./1.30m).

As we have had a lot of feedback to our appeal to “show us your Crunch offspring” we want to show some of it to you now:
