Catoo has tremendous presence and is extremely energetic and flexible. He carries himself well, always conveying the proud impression of correct breeding stallion.
His good rectangular frame and his wellstructured legs round off the convincing overall impression.
Under Markus von Holdt, Catoo became 4-yearold Stallion Riding Horse Champion at the 2011 Warendorf National Championship – an exceptional achievement for the Holsteiner studbook with Catoo the first ever Holsteiner in the National Championship’s history to win this title. The test riders awarded the stallion brilliant marks for his rideability (9.0 and 10.0).
Catoo was sold to the Schwiebert family’s Helenenhof stud in 2014. The breeding rights lie with the Holsteiner Verband, so the stallion continues to be available through frozen semen. Catoo has been approved for the Hanover and Oldenburg breeding programme, as well.
Catoo is able to pass on his own excellent movement to his offspring. The big-sized stallion should be preferably bred to elegant mares with a well-set neck known to carry dressage blood.
The stallion
is available at all stations of the Holsteiner Verband stallion stable.Catoo’s sire Con Air won numerous Nations Cup competitions with the Danish team and secured top grand prix placings all over
Europe under Lars Bak Andersen. Ridden by Otto Becker, he won the Hachenburg grand prix and was a member of the winning team at the Madrid Nations Cup final in 2008. Under his new owner Jose Larocca (Argentina), Con Air successfully competed at the Kentucky World Equestrian Games in 2010.
Catoo’s dam, state premium mare Flair, is 2nd dam to Canto, the 2004 champion stallion, which left quite an impression when his firstcrop son Cantoblanco became champion stallion at Neumünster in 2008.
Catoo’s dam line has produced three generations of S level offspring, with Lovely Boy (Norbert Koof), out of Birkeness and by legendary Landgraf I, considered the most successful representative of this mare family.

The test riders awarded the stallion brilliant marks for his rideability (9.0 and 10.0).
At 5- and 6-year-old, Catoo qualified for the Warendorf National Championship with top marks. Continuing his training under Markus von Holdt he proved a success when first shown at S level with several St.Georg Special placings during the 2015 season, for example the Balve Nürnberger Burg Pokal qualifier. In 2016, Catoo’s results under his owner-rider Rainer Schwiebert included 2nd place in a dressage class at S**- intermediare I level in Ankum scoring 69.518%.
Last season he had several placings in dressage classes at S***- Grand Prix level, also at the Hamburg German Dressage Derby.
Catoo achieved many outstanding results in ridden classes and won the 2010 Schlieckau stallion performance test, outperforming 48 other stallions and obtaining an excellent score of 141.69 index points.
70-Tage-Test 2010 Schlieckau: Ges. 141,69 (1./48), Spr. 124,22 (5./48), Dres. 140,94 (2./48)
Catoo foals continue to attract attention for their excellent movement at foal inspection sites. His breeding value based on his offspring’s performance in young horse dressage classes is 123, in young horse jumping classes 126.
Catoos Son, a very typey firstcrop offspring with tremendous movement was stallion-graded and purchased by a successful international dressage rider at Neumünster.
Another Catoo son called Can Jump was knocked down to Australia at 46,500 euros through the Neumünster elite riding horse auction. Cedric by Catoo was sold to the UK through the 2016 spring auction and boasts placings in international young horse classes by now. Champagner, another stallion-graded Catoo son caused a splash at the 2016 National Championships by winning Vice 5-year-old Dressage Horse Champion under Claudia Rüscher, scoring 9.0 on trot, canter, throughness, and overall impression.
