Since 1 March, the 46 highly promising lots on offer in the 35th Holsteiner spring auction sale can be viewed online on holsteiner.auction. The lot includes 21 three-year-olds to be presented free-jumping only, one of them for example the Cancara-Caretino daughter Cantara E (Gerd Eggers, Stadum), a full sister to Cassandra Orschel’s Dacara E, the reigning state champion of the female riders’ contest in Bad Segeberg and herself a Elmshorn spring auction sale graduate.
The three-year-old offers by sires like for example Van Gogh, Cascadello I, Livello, Balou de Rouet, Colman or else Million Dollar not only include interesting sport horse prospects but also fillies you might consider breeding this season prior to starting a sport career. “I am very happy we can offer a great number of three-year-olds as well as some horses our clients can start competing with right away”, says head of marketing Roland Metz. The second half of the lot comprises horses already under saddle in the four- to seven-year-old age bracket. Produced as appropriate to their age, some of them have already experiences in competition with the offer including Holsteiner young talents for discerning amateurs same as for international jumping riders. And their pedigrees read like the who’s who in international show jumping, as sires like Diarado, Calido I, Stakkato, Casall, For Pleasure or Zuccero send offspring from the Holsteiner studbook’s most important asset – the proven and reliably bred mare families. And Holsteiner dressage horse enthusiasts are also being catered to with an interesting lot: hip no 46, Sullivan, a stallion by reigning national champion Secret by Sezuan out of a Lorentin-Coriander dam, is to close the collection.
First presentation on 7 March
“We have been able to put together a really convincing collection”, Roland Metz is happy to sum up. “And we really appreciate the exhibitors’ confidence and support as we couldn’t work as successfully without it.” He and his team have viewed in excess of 150 horses in the run-up, going out of their way and sparing no effort visiting a great many breeders in Holstein and all across Germany.
The first public presentation of the auction horses in the Fritz-Thiedemann indoor arena is live streamed through ClipMyHorse.TV on 7 March at 2 p.m. Afterwards the ridden horses can be tried out under saddle. The three-year-olds will move to their box stalls at Elmshorn on 25 March, while the final presentation, the last chance for trying-out and the hybrid auction sale are on 27 March. The team around executive director Roland Metz (+49 171 4364651 or firstname.lastname@example.org) is always happy to answer any questions concerning the auction procedure as well as the individual horses.
